Written by 23rd August 2021 Uncategorised

The British Sailing Team’s windfoilers gave a masterclass in the Olympics’ newest and arguably most exciting discipline at the very first iQFOiL World Championships in Silvaplana, Switzerland.

Matt Barton brought home silver in the men’s fleet, while Islay Watson and Saskia Sills took silver and bronze respectively in the women’s fleet. And in the under 21 category, Finn Hawkins was crowned the first ever world champion.

Adding to the display of strength from the Brits, Andy Brown came home sixth with Sam Sills in seventh in the men’s fleet. Imogen Sills was 15th in the women’s competition, with Alysia Gibson 25th.

The BST’s iQFOiL contingent will be back in action at the European Championships in the Paris 2024 sailing venue of Marseille in late October.
