Henry Wetherell was always going to be a sailor. With both parents keen racers Wetherell grew up around boats and has been on the water for as long as he can remember.
Taking the helm of a Laser Radial Wetherell contested international events before moving up to the Laser Standard. Success would follow from the step up when he took the 2015 RYA Youth Nationals title.
One year on from that win Wetherell again stepped up to compete in the Finn class where he would take the U23 title in his first major outing in the heavyweight dinghy.
The Yorkshireman is now among the British Sailing Team ranks hoping to continue the rich history of British Olympic success in the Finn following greats such as Iain Percy, Ben Ainslie and Giles Scott.
