Jack Wetherell

Date of birth: 15 February 1994
Birth place: Doncaster, East Ridings of Yorkshire
Home town: Snaith, East Ridings of Yorkshire

Yorkshireman Jack Wetherell grew up crewing Mirror and RS200 dinghies for his family but it wasn’t until he got into a Topper and out on his own that his sailing skills came to the fore.

Progressing into the Laser, Wetherell claimed the 2010 Laser Inlands title, which he successfully defended a year later, before going on to win bronze at the 2011 Laser Standard Junior Worlds.

Moving up in to the senior ranks of the British Sailing Team, Wetherell has enjoyed podium success at the Laser Europa Cup and the established Kieler Woche event.

As well as racing, Wetherell enjoys coaching and giving sailing advice to his home town youngsters but it is his Game of Thrones knowledge that really sets the self-confessed ‘GoT geek’ apart from the rest of his teammates.
