Green fingered Tom Squires was living the good life as a young Oxfordshire gardener at the tender age of 11 before he was bitten by the windsurfing bug.
On a family holiday in Cornwall Squires’ father bought an old windsurfer and let his son have a go. He enjoyed it so much that on their return to Oxford they immediately signed up to the nearest RYA Windsurfing course. The rest is history.
Squires has claimed the prestigious Princess Sofia Trophy as part of the British Sailing Team’s windsurfing group and despite his relatively late start to sailing continues to push hard for results spending all his time on a board out on the water.
A keen videographer and story teller Squires has not forgotten his roots and can even impress with his ‘Botanical Latin’ skills picked up at college.
