Chris Rashley seems to be at home on foils. An accomplished Moth sailor, Rashley has won four European titles as well as stepping on to the podium at the Moth Worlds, so when the Nacra 17 upgraded to foiling after the Rio 2016 Olympic Games there would have been a wry smile on Rashley’s face.
The SUP addict helms the multihull and is joined onboard by crew Laura Marimon who began her sailing adventures in the Optimist aged six. Progressing through the Laser set up, Marimon joins Rashley in the Nacra 17 following an impressive education resume.
Marimon holds a first class Masters degree in Yachts and Small Crafts and also a doctorate from the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton.
Together the pair are taking a tilt at Tokyo 2020 gold, but Rashley will have to keep an eye out for team mate Marimon who also has ambitions of taking on the Winter Olympics for Team GB on the ski slopes. Can part one of Marimon’s dream come true at the next Games?
