Following in the footsteps of her older brother and inspiration Sam, Saskia Sills began windsurfing with her identical twin sister Imogen in 2005 and quickly became a force to be reckoned with on the youth world stage.
In her debut at international level Sills placed in the top 10 at the U15 Techno 293 Worlds in 2008 and came back a year later to win the title. The U17 Techno293 World title followed in 2011 and that was topped by the 2012 Youth Worlds gold after her move in to the RS:X fleet, the Olympic windsurfing equipment.
Since then Sills has been hampered with injury. A year-long battle through loss of form and injury was eventually diagnosed as Compartment Syndrome and surgery soon followed. Not long after Sills was diagnosed with Coeliac disease and is currently managing her symptoms with the support of the British Sailing Team.
Back on the board Sills is aiming to hit the heights of her youth days and with her university studies in Geography now complete it’s an all-out assault to the top of the windsurfing world.
