As sailors you have to be adaptable. The ever-changing conditions and situations mean you have to be ready for anything.

And today in Enoshima that anything was actually… well, nothing.

Despite a long wait in the hot sun, the breeze needed to get the 49er and 49erFX medal races plus the final 470 fleet races underway never materialised.

That means that tomorrow there are FOUR medals up for grabs as Giles Scott (Finn) and John Gimson/Anna Burnet (Nacra 17) join Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey (49erFX) and Dylan Fletcher/Stuart Bithell (49er) in the fight for Olympic glory.

Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre will also be looking to keep hold of top spot in the women’s 470 and Luke Patience and Chris Grube will keep pushing for a spot on the podium in the men’s. Both want to be in prime position going into their medal races on Wednesday.

The added regatta finales means it’s a very early one for fans in the UK wanting to watch LIVE medal race action:

4.33am – 49erFX
5.33am – 49er
6.33am – Finn
7.33am – Nacra 17

See you tomorrow, bright and early!
